Adult Programs

Lesson Program:   Ages 21 and up. We get it. You are an adult who loves horses. Maybe you rode in your tweens, teens and twenties, then life happened. Or maybe you have always had a thing for horses but never could get your mom to buy you a riding lesson. Well, life is about to change because our team of instructors can either get you back into riding shape or help fulfill your dream of becoming an equestrian. Our strong stable of horses are ready to nurture your talent and help you achieve your goals.

Community Welcome Night:   One night a week during the winter months Hess welcomes riders from all over the area to trailer in and and utilize our indoor riding facility. Participants reserve their time two days in advance. A trainer will be on site to provide any help that is needed and our heated viewing room is available for loved ones to hang out and enjoy a hot beverage.

Special Programs

Working Student Program:   Horseback riding is an expensive hobby and we provide a program that helps your wallet and our barn! For three hours a week any student over the age of 12 may sign up for the working student program. Each student is assigned to assist a trainer or barn manager with chores or working horses. In exchange the student will receive one free group lesson for every three hours that the student works.

Advanced Programs

Upper Level Training Program:   This program is for riders who are interested in leasing one of the Hess advanced level horses with the goal of competing at Horse Shows. Lessons will be tailored to the ability and needs of the horse/rider team. Participants will be required to have a specific number of Lessons and amount of Hack time. From there, each student will be invited to participate in a series of horse shows throughout the year.

Teen Programs

Saturday Horsemanship Club:   In addition to regular lessons throughout the week riders are welcome to participate in our Saturday Horsemanship Club. Members of the Horsemanship Club begin to roll in to help with chores and prepare for their individual hack times beginning at 12:00 PM every Saturday. From noon until 4 pm our club members hang out, ride, clean tack and help the trainers and managers ride and care for  the horses. Around dinner time food and drinks are brought in and our trainers give an hour long horsemanship seminar or a guest clinician is invited to speak to the club. By 6:30 a fun activity is planned, it could be equine games in the indoor ring, an early evening trail ride in the summer or a bonfire or movie in the fall. Our teenagers return home happy and tired and will know just a bit more about the wonderful world of horses.

123 Trot Lessons:    This Lesson Series is designed for young ones who are just starting to ride. Riders are introduced to grooming, tacking up and riding. Covering everything from how to hold a horse brush, to the colors of the horse, it all starts here. In addition to our lessons, all our 123 Trot students are invited to participate in the 123 Trot Weekend Package, where young riders are welcome to come to the barn to hand walk and brush their favorite horse! We will provide the supervision and help answer any questions. This is a fantastic way for children to become very proficient horsemen and women. It is also a great way for our community of riders to mentor one another as they advance through the ranks.
